LPGA Safeway Classic

The Safeway Classic is an annual golf tournament for professional female golfers on the LPGA Tour. Founded in 1972, it takes place every year in Portland, Oregon. It is the oldest continuous event on the LPGA Tour. Tournament Golf Foundation has managed the tournament since its start and also managed the Safeway International Tournament on the LPGA Tour. The 2008 Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola marked the conclusion of Safeway's sponsorship of the Phoenix area LPGA event.

Proceeds from the tournament are donated to local children's charities. To date, over $9 million has been raised.

The tournament has had a variety of sponsors during its history. Its current title sponsor is Safeway Inc., North America's third largest supermarket chain.

JELD-WEN Tradition

The Tradition is one of the five major championships recognized by the U.S.-based Champions Tour, the world's leading tour for professional golfers aged fifty and older. The inaugural event was staged in 1989.

Unlike the U.S. Senior Open and the Senior PGA Championship and the Senior British Open, it is not recognized as a major by the European Seniors Tour, and is not part of that tour's official schedule. Unlike the mainstream major championships, some of the senior majors have title sponsors, and at present The Tradition is officially known as "JELD-WEN Tradition". It is the only senior major where the winner does not earn an exemption into a PGA Tour or PGA European Tour event.

From its inception in 1989 through 2002, the tournament was held at the Cochise Golf Course of the Golf Club at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona. From 2003 through 2006, it was held at the South Course of The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon, just west of Portland.

In 2007 the tournament moved to the high desert of central Oregon, to the Crosswater Golf Club in Sunriver. The lengthy course sits on 600 acres (242 hectares) of woodlands and preserved wetlands along the Deschutes River, at an elevation of 4170 feet (1271 m) above sea level. The par 72 layout will play at 7,316 yards (6,690 m) in 2009.

NBC-TV carried the weekend coverage of the tournament in 2007 and 2009 and will do so again in 2010. The Golf Channel will continue to cover the early rounds (and all four rounds in 2008 while NBC carries the Olympic Games from China).

Wyndham Championship

The Wyndham Championship is a regular golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in Greensboro, North Carolina, U.S. and was originally called the Greater Greensboro Open. In 2007, the event was renamed the Wyndham Championship when Wyndham Hotels & Resorts took over from DaimlerChrysler as main sponsor. It moved from an autumn date to mid-August and is the last PGA Tour event before the Playoffs for the FedEx Cup.

The tournament was founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open. This tournament was usually contested in April or May, until a schedule change in 2003 which moved the tournament toward the end of the season. Sam Snead set a PGA Tour record for his 8 wins at the event, as well as his 1965 event, which made him the oldest player to win a PGA Tour event (both records still stand).

The event has been played in Greensboro for its entire history. In its first four years, it was played at both Sedgefield Country Club and Starmount Forest Country Club, and shifted to solely Starmount Forest CC in 1942 and for the first time it was played after World War II in 1945. Starting with that 1945 event, it alternated between Starmount Forest CC and Sedgefield CC until 1952, when Starmount Forest CC hosted for a 2nd year in a row. It returned to Sedgefield CC in 1953 before Starmount Forest CC hosted three consecutive years (through 1956). Sedgefield CC hosted in 1957 before Starmount Forest CC hosted another three straight 1958-60. From 1961 to 1976, it was played at Sedgefield CC. From 1977 to 2007, Forest Oaks Country Club hosted the event. In 2008, the tournament returned to Sedgefield CC.[1]

The 2010 purse was $5,100,000, with $918,000 going to the winner.
